Strengthening Unemployment Insurance strengthens Arizona

After an unprecedented year of economic uncertainty, the need for strong and effective unemployment insurance benefits is clearer than ever. Unemployment insurance is not only a safety net for those who lose their jobs through no fault of their own, it’s an economic stabilizer. 

With a $240 weekly benefit amount that gets reduced after earning just $30, Arizona’s unemployment insurance rate is one of the lowest in the country. No one can survive off that amount, and folks are punished for taking part-time work while looking for a new job. 

Creating a better system is possible and we know what changes need to be made. It takes bold leadership and decisive action from lawmakers who are committed to serving their constituents. We are immensely grateful to those who are taking the charge.
